The Introduction shows how the book arose out of our practical experiences of trying to answer the question "How can a church make children and their families feel welcome?" Starting from the1998 Children in the Way report it sets out some basic principles together with a brief summary of the theological and Biblical rationale for those principles.
Chapter 1 then looks at the issues involved in each of the age groups (Babies, Tots, Nursery & Infants, Juniors), and offers practical suggestions and challenges for each age group.
