This is a new set of two booklets to help adults and children who worship together at Holy Communion, with pictures by Sam Akroyd. They are "The Lord is here" and "Thank you God for..."
The booklet "The Lord is here...." is a series of captioned pictures of the different parts of the whole service of the Eucharist, with thought provoking questions to help you to talk with children about their experiences of sharing with adults in a service of Holy Communion. The children can colour the pictures, add a drawing of themselves to help them identify with the text and the questions, and make the book their own.
Thank you God for..." is a series of captioned pictures of the different parts of the Eucharistic Prayer, for children who do not read well enough to have a printed text or even a captioned version of the Eucharistic Prayer. It is designed to help young children to develop an understanding of the structure and sequence of the prayer, with no attention given to the wording of the different versions of the Prayer in Common Worship.
The A4 size pages can be used for children to personalise in their own way. The A5 booklet is for slightly older children, or for an adult to use alongside the child who is using the A4 version.
With both booklets the pictures can be enlarged and mounted, and used as separate discussion cards, when an adult is working with a group of children. There are two booklets in A4 format, together with two booklets in A5 (Microsoft Publisher) format.
