This service was celebrated in Betty's parish at Epiphany-tide earlier this year, when Jesus' first miracle features strongly. However it was so successful that we realised it could also be used on other occasions, for instance when there was a popular wedding taking place in the community, when there was an emphasis on marriage in the parish programme, or when the parish wanted to focus on the miracles of Jesus.
During the service the wedding and reception are mimed, giving opportunity to involve children, and the service goes on to proclaim the power of Jesus to change people and situations. Visual prayer cards are used to help in the worship.
