This service uses the imagery of a Lighthouse, which gives warning, hope and guidance to sailors, particularly in times of storm and danger. Pictures and information on actual Lighthouses are provided. The image of the Lighthouse illustrates what it can mean to Christians to say that Jesus is the Light of the World. The importance of keeping the Lighthouse mirror and lantern clean is linked to confession. Ribbons are used to symbolise the different ways in which people may experience the Light of Christ.
