Mountains are referred to in many different places in the Bible. Different Bible references to mountains are used to identify people and places of great spiritual importance. More recent interest in mountaineering, and the development of equipment for this activity is used to develop thinking about mountain top experiences, and the descent that follows. Alternative middle sections are provided so that this service could be used at Ascensiontide or for the Feast of the Transfiguration.
