This Mothering Sunday service takes the theme of Gifts. Brightly coloured, wrapped boxes provide visual impact. The qualities of life experienced in God's Holy Spirit, as identified in the Bible readings, are printed on to the gift-wrapped boxes. Children can wear the boxes or carry the boxes to bring them to life.

The service acknowledges these qualities in the life of the Church family, as it celebrates Mother Church , and it also sees them as qualities of mothering experienced in family life. Small boxes “filled with love” are distributed at the end of the service as part of the act of thanksgiving on Mothering Sunday.
