The whole experience of giving and receiving presents will still be fresh in people's minds as Epiphany comes around again. We all spend a lot of time trying to choose gifts that are appropriate and useful, pleasing and acceptable.
This service looks at some gifts and asks the congregation to identify the type of person for whom these gifts would be appropriate. Discussion of good choices and bad choices of gifts leads into looking at the gifts which were brought by the Wise men to Jesus. What look like very strange gifts for a baby turn out to be very appropriate gifts.
Many people thought that God's gift to the world was very inappropriate in the form of a Baby but He turned out to be the greatest and most appropriate gift of all time.
