Hot Cross Buns are traditional food for Good Friday. This very straightforward service uses the shape of the Hot Cross Bun to explore the Easter story. Make a circle for the world, add the cross of Jesus, and you have a created four sections on the bun. Each one of these sections relates to either Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday or Easter Day. As the shape of the bun is constructed, the events are described and devotional words added as captions. A copy of this illustrated bun shape is then given to each person present before they are invited to stay and eat a real Hot Cross Bun. |
