The cross is the central symbol of the Christian Faith and all around the world different people of different cultures and communities have used and adapted the symbol of the cross in their own way to express something of their relationship with God. This service takes 9 different crosses from around the world and draws from them the key words which embrace their meaning. People are invited to think about all these different, but totally complementary, strands of meaning and allow them to speak of the magnitude of what Jesus did for us on the cross. These crosses can be made at a separate craft event and then used in the service. Alternatively pictures from the pack can be used as the visual stimulus. |
